About Our Alumni Association

The Department of Wildlife and Management took its first steps in 2003 with just two students, growing over the years into a thriving community of conservationists, researchers, and professionals. On September 29, 2024, under the esteemed guidance of our Chairman, Prof. Vijaya Kumara, we proudly hosted our first Alumni Meet, marking the beginning of a new chapter in our department’s legacy.
With this milestone, we officially formed an Executive Committee and registered our association under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960. Our vision is to harness the collective expertise of our alumni to inspire and support the next generation of students. We aim to provide opportunities for hands-on experiences in wildlife conservation through internships, volunteering, workshops, and field activities.
Beyond mentorship, we are committed to enhancing the department’s resources—be it through equipment, infrastructure, or dedicated time. Our network also serves as a platform for career growth, assisting both students and fellow alumni in finding the right job opportunities.
We take immense pride in our distinguished alumni, including Dr. Sanjay Gubbi, Dr. Samad Kottur, Dr. Thammaiah C.K, Dr. Harish Prakash, and many more, whose remarkable contributions to wildlife conservation continue to inspire and guide future generations in the field.
